Meet The Owner of The Pet Nannies!
Amy Suggars
Amy has been a pet owner, trainer and advocate for many years. She is currently owned by Katydid (a Flat-coated Retriever) and Melli (a black DSH cat). In the past she has been an active member of Flat-Coated Retriever Society of America, president of the Midwest Waterways Flat-Coated Retriever Club, a member of the Central Ohio Kennel Club , a certified instructor for Columbus All-Breed Training Club as well as on the Board of Directors of the Capital Area Humane Society and a member of The President's Council of the American Kennel Club's Canine Health Foundation. Amy was also an active participant in a variety of dog sports and has been involved with animal rescue. Several of her pets were adopted from a humane society.
Amy has a B.S. in Biology from Thiel College and an M.S. and Ph.D in Entomology from North Carolina State University (which explains why you may see insect pictures in the photo gallery). She spent many years as a research scientist before leaving the corporate world in 2006 to start The Pet Nannies. She has never looked back!
